Elena Malzew is an independent curator and publisher based in Berlin. She holds a Masters degree in Cultural Studies from Leuphana University Lüneburg, and a BA in Film and Media studies from the University of South Wales. She currently co-curates the program of the Hamburg-based project space Come Over Chez Malik's, works as publishing house manager for the art book publisher BOM DIA BOA TARDE BOA NOITE in Berlin, and co-curates two projects in the public space: ‚Gegenwart‘ in Hamburg and ‚Über Brücken – Bridging‘ in Cologne. In her curatorial practice, she is interested in questions of a shared public sphere, mechanisms of access and exclusion, negotiations of center and periphery as well as the social and economic conditions of art and its production. Her most recent programming work has been focused on “post-east” perspectives in the art field.
